Laura’s Lane
Logline: An idiosyncratic recluse devises a devious plan of manipulation and deception in order to sabotage his family’s relationship.
Synopsis: Possessing the intellect of being well read, the maturity of an eleven-year-old boy, and the theatrics of a player on stage, Olen is indeed an oddity. For the past thirty-eight years, Olen has lived in the same house on the same dead end lane, never venturing outside the safety of his mother’s nest to make a life of his own. It is within this realm of Laura’s Lane that Olen walks comfortably. No threats linger, no long stares nor chuckles to be ignored as there are in the other world — the world outside of Laura’s Lane.
At least not until…
Before Olen can scream his mother’s name, his beloved Laura’s Lane is besieged by two sets of family members: One family rolling in on a RV, the other taking up residence in his grandmother’s vacant house. Olen panics, and his fear breeds manipulation and deception as he sets forth on a strategy to banish these unwanted relatives in order to preserve the only slice of security he owns in this world.
LAURA’S LANE, a character driven drama seasoned with humor, explores the tension and suffocation that families living in close proximity with each other can create, and one idiosyncratic man’s mission to utilize these discomforts in hopes of sabotaging a family’s ties.
