As There Are As Many Stars

Tanna Thompson, Creative Executive for RPM International, calls AS THERE ARE AS MANY STARS “an actor’s piece, somewhat akin to CLOSER, but with it’s own unique voice, particularly in the sudden and surprising turns that elicit dark humor, thus giving the audience a momentary break in the heavy psychological moments.”

Logline: Unable to bear children, a woman invents bizarre lies and false scenarios in desperation of salvaging her relationship.

Synopsis: Gwyneth didn’t see him at first, she heard him. She listened to his rhythm approaching as he danced down the sidewalk towards her. Before she could visualize saying “hello” to this dapper stranger, the deed was done.

It was the sound of her voice that turned Julian’s head. Upon doing so, he glimpsed heaven, and what he discovered was, if angels had bodies, they would resemble her.

So begins the fairytale. Summoned from the lantern by Julian’s immense love, Gwyneth becomes the genie for Julian’s desires. His pleasure is her happiness. His honesty is all that she requires. Their world turns pink.

Then comes a day when Julian expresses a wish that Gwyneth is unable to grant… the power to bear him children. The magic of their romance is threatened, and Gwyneth realizes the only way to continue living in bliss, is simply not to tell him.

But think not Julian the victim. For when the ever so fertile Olivia resurfaces in his life again, he decides not to tell Gwyneth of the past they shared. A past Julian fears will plague Gwyneth with insecurities if she were to find out.

Thus, the unsaid remains silent until the day Gwyneth is befriended by her Turrets stricken new neighbor, Celest. Uncanniness ensues as Gwyneth discovers that Celest too, once shared a past with Olivia. When Gwyneth learns that there was significantly more between Julian and Olivia than being past roommates, it sends Gwyneth into an emotional tailspin, warping her behavior and provoking her into creating bizarre situations in desperation of salvaging her relationship.

AS THERE ARE AS MANY STARS is a character-driven love story with an edge. Rich in sensuality, strewn with thought provoking scenarios.
